North Carolina, US-based Sentek Solutions, distributor of Hokuyo Automatic Co Ltd products, used the show to launch its KAD-300 close crane warning sensor. The unit is designed for overhead bridge cranes to prevent crane-to-wall collisions or limit the approach of adjacent cranes within the same bay.

Built with a rugged metal housing, the system is a self-contained infrared sensor with three separate outputs for controlling slow-down and stop zones.

The sensor can be adjusted for three independent ranges up to a distance of 120 feet. In addition to the three outputs, the KAD-300 is equipped with a fault output that will energise in the event of a failure.

A typical application, Sentek said, would have the transceiver mounted on the crane bridge and a reflective target on the end wall or another crane. With limited hardware, the KAD-300 allows for easy installation and maintenance.
