The crane which will be rated for A8/M8 duty and will be used to lift ladles for lifting molten metal. Due to the arduous duty, the crane will have open laid out winches on both hoists. The trolley is a two-part unit where an upper trolley can rotate through 270 degrees, thus allowing the auxiliary hoist to be positioned on either side of the main hoist for ease of tipping the ladle to suit many locations in the cast house area.

It will be remote radio controlled and, as the crane will operate in high temperatures, all cables and culices will be rated to accommodate this.

The contract, worth in excess of Euros 450,000, will be delivered in March 2007.
