The US Navy has awarded a contract for high-tech cranes for a military lab. The contract, whose value cannot exceed $30m, is for two 10 US ton (9t) electric overhead travelling cranes and one 20 US ton (18t) crane are for the Undersea Network Centric Laboratory, part of the Newport, Rhode Island’s Naval Undersea Warfare Centre. The contractors are US crane builder and Munck dealer American Crane and Equipment Corporation, special crane builder Heco-Pacific Manufacturing, Apollo remote control vendor Crane Technologies, as well as Advanced Automation Technologies of Exton, Pennsylvania and American Equipment Inc of Salt Lake City, Utah.
