A Henefeld Metal Works Ltd, the Israeli crane building partner of SWF Krantechnik, installed the gantry crane at one of the country’s largest precast concrete element manufacturers.
Lifting height of the gantry crane is 17m, and the crane’s span is 26m. Hoisting capabilities are supplied by two 40t capacity Nova NF electric wire rope hoists from SWF Krantechnik, which also have true vertical lift. An auxiliary 8t hoist is fitted to the gantry crane. The gantry crane will be used to handle components weighing up to 78t during the manufacturing and shipping process at the precast concrete element plant.
All wire rope hoists are equipped with the NovaMaster condition monitoring system that also provides tandem load summing. Special magnetic area limit switches control the load limitation in the crane’s two consoles, 7m and 4.5m respectively, and allow a limited total load of 20t at that point.
