The crane transports aluminium plates between seven treatment baths and several drying rooms.

Frequency-controlled motors installed on the crane smooth out the crane’s motions, which helps to transport the loads securely. It also helped adjust the process for the ideal running times.

Gersag chose two Triplex telescoping pillars to maximise lifting height. The pillars are raised by wire rope running through diverter pulleys, and pulled by an SWF Krantechnik Nova hoist fitted with two rope outlets.

The crane reads encoded reference tape to determine its linear position. An optical measuring system observes hoisting height. Both systems enable a position control precision of 2mm.
