OCH has signed up as exclusive international media partner for the ICHC 2010, organized by US-based publisher Maximum Capacity Media. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Houston North, Greenspoint, USA, May 26-27.
ICHC 2010 will open with a keynote address from Craig Epperson, president and CEO of Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau.
Brad Benner, vice president and general manager, Alps Wire Rope, will present a review of wire rope applications used in the overhead lifting industry; Richard Warriner, vice president and general manager of Engineered Solutions, Ace World Companies, will present on inspection techniques for technicians and on flathead vs. tapered tread crane wheels; Michael Gelsky Sr., CEO and founder, Lift-It Manufacturing, will present on rigging for success; Scott Miller, vice president of operations, Harrington Hoists, will address application guidelines and benefits of chain hoists; Fred Wolsey, system engineer, cranes and hoists, and Pete Richards, multi trade leader, crane crew, from Bruce Power, will look at overhead crane component aging and obsolescence; Danny Bishop, director of training, The Crosby Group, will speak on block inspection and maintenance; David Matthews, director of engineering, and research and development, J.C.Renfroe & Sons, will talk on plate lift clamps and crane blocks; Tom Berringer, project manager, Gantrex, will look at safer crane bumpers and will compare AIST and CMAA standards; and Al Abel, lifting specialist, Mazella Lifting, will talk on safe design and use of custom-made below-the-hook devices.
There will also be presentation on overhead load protection and weighing solutions, as well as panel discussions on the advantages and disadvantages of third party vs. in-house crane inspectors, and overhead crane operator training and certification.
ICHC 2010 will run alongside an exhibition – Reach Expo – and the Crane & Rigging Conference, to which OCH’s sister title Cranes Today has signed, also as international media partner.
