Since its founding in the early 1990s, the company has been at the forefront of technological advancements, including the upgraded VERSO Series and the JLT1214 Series. In the warehousing sector, its products enable companies to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs), enhance product movement efficiency, and ensure order fulfillment.

In the ports industry, JLT’s rugged computers reduce deployment risks and simplify installation. Its five-year Navis Ready validation ensures seamless integration between JLT products and the Navis N4 terminal operating system, enhancing performance in port operations. JLT’s technology is also being used to support innovation in smart farming, where it helps farmers improve crop yields and increase operational efficiency through advanced IT solutions. In mining, JLT devices are used to monitor vital activities like ore quality assessment and tire wear, allowing operators to make data-driven decisions that enhance productivity.

Throughout its history, JLT has witnessed and contributed to significant shifts in the rugged computing landscape. Devices have become more compact and ergonomic, while performance has continually improved with the inclusion of powerful processors, high-resolution displays, and advanced connectivity options like 5G.

One of the company’s key innovations came in 2015 with the launch of its JLT PowerTouch technology, setting a new industry standard for rugged touchscreens that work even in challenging environments, such as wet conditions or while wearing gloves. In 2019, JLT also became the first company to sign a five-year Navis Ready agreement, a significant endorsement of the quality of its products in the port industry.

Looking ahead, JLT is embarking on a collaborative project with a Swedish university to explore artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing. As JLT marks 30 years of innovation, it remains dedicated to shaping the future of rugged computing and providing solutions that help customers in some of the most challenging environments around the world.
