Kito Crosby has secured an agreement with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), as the exclusive supplier of offshore crane sheaves with a Safe Working Load (SWL) range of 20t to 250t.

The company was chosen for the contract due to its ability to streamline production processes, offer reliable delivery, and provide cost-effective supply chain solutions, all while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Roger Øvstetun, manager for Kito Crosby Engineered Solutions EMEA, who oversaw the project with senior project manager Torgeir Hultstrand, credited the agreement’s success to a strategic production approach. “This is the result of more than a decade of collaboration, built on a foundation of trust and reliability with this OEM,” Øvstetun said.

Kito Crosby is known for its advanced material technology, a critical factor in securing the deal. The company manufactures high-performance ductile cast iron crane sheaves in partnership with DNV and ELKEM, which feature mechanical properties such as increased strength, durability, and resistance to fatigue. The optimized casting process also provides greater design flexibility, allowing for material reinforcement in stress-critical areas, ensuring enhanced safety without compromising on weight or cost.

The company’s expertise in adhering to industry regulations and compliance standards further strengthens its position, offering customers assurance that all components meet the highest safety and performance requirements.

The agreement, which began in November 2024, is set to continue through 2025, with the potential for an extension into 2026 and beyond.
