Konecranes has received an A rating in the CDP’s annual climate program, improving from an A- over the past two years. This shows the company’s ongoing progress in its goal to lead the material handling industry in cutting emissions, managing climate risks, and offering low-carbon solutions.
CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. Its program is a globally recognized standard that measures how investors, companies, cities, states, and regions manage their environmental impact. To earn a leadership ranking like an A or A-, companies must show how they impact the environment and detail the actions they’re taking to reduce that impact, in line with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5-degree climate goal.
“We’re thrilled that our hard work is being recognized by the CDP with this upgrade to the A List. Industry data helps us evaluate how we’re doing with climate action, and this rating shows we’re on the right path. Going forward, we’ll focus on developing long-term, science-based net-zero targets, alongside our current goal to cut emissions in half by 2030,” said Anniina Virta-Toikka, VP of Sustainability at Konecranes.
