Konecranes has unveiled its D-series electric chain hoist designed to meet the demands of industries that require reliable, efficient equipment.
With its durable construction, advanced safety features, and compact design, the Konecranes D-series is aimed at improving safety, increasing productivity, and ensuring long-term reliability across a wide range of industrial applications.
Initially available in the EMEA region, the D-series will become globally accessible, with additional options expected by 2026. The hoist offers lifting capacities from 80 kg to 5,000 kg, across seven frame sizes, catering to sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, and process operations.
The D-series is engineered to perform well even in demanding environments, including spaces with limited room. Its modular design and low-maintenance components reduce downtime, allowing for proactive maintenance that helps save time and lower costs. Designed to integrate with other Konecranes equipment, including KBK workstation lifting systems, jib cranes, and overhead cranes, the D-series offers a flexible and efficient solution for various industrial needs.
Starting in March 2025, Konecranes will also offer pre-configured quick-ship hoists with standard features, pendants, and trolleys, available directly from stock for fast delivery.
The hoist boasts several notable features, including advanced safety measures like a slipping clutch with speed monitoring for automatic safe stops, 24V contactor control, and operating limit switches. These elements enhance safety by reducing the risk of accidents and unexpected downtime. Additionally, the hoist offers reliable performance in a wide temperature range, from -20°C to +45°C, with the ability to function at temperatures as high as 60°C, making it adaptable to various work environments.
Another key feature of the D-series is its low-maintenance design. The gearbox, slipping clutch, and brake require no maintenance for up to 10 years under one-shift operation, minimizing downtime and reducing lifecycle costs. The hoist also includes a versatile suspension bracket for easy integration into trolleys and various suspension systems, further enhancing its adaptability.
Despite its advanced features, the Konecranes D-series maintains a compact form, making it ideal for operations in tight spaces. It also includes a 7-digit status display that provides real-time information about operating time, status, warnings, and errors, making service and maintenance straightforward.
For operators, the Konecranes D-series offers an ergonomic pendant control for comfortable and smooth load handling. An optional Manulift control unit for loads up to 500 kg allows for efficient one-handed operation, enhancing load handling efficiency. The Manulift unit can be customized for different tasks and is suitable for both right- and left-hand use. For added flexibility, optional radio control systems are available, further boosting safety and productivity.
In line with Konecranes’ commitment to environmental sustainability, the D-series hoist has been developed with the company’s Design for Environment (DfE) principles. This approach minimizes environmental impact by focusing on repairability, durability, material selection, and energy efficiency.
Manufactured in Germany using 100% renewable electricity, the hoist’s modular design ensures ease of maintenance and longevity. Key components like the gearbox, slipping clutch, and brake are designed to last for up to 10 years without maintenance, reducing the need for replacements. The hoist is primarily made from recyclable metals and its packaging is fully renewable and recyclable, demonstrating Konecranes’ ongoing dedication to sustainability throughout the product’s lifecycle.
