The enlarged company will operate under the Konecranes brand, and, said Konecranes, allow “an unparalleled product offering, level of service and technical support”.

The merger will see crane manufacturing transferred to a facility in East Kilbride, Scotland, and result in the end of crane manufacturing in Loughborough, affecting 90 employees. The merger of the businesses will lead to an additional 25 employees being affected.

“The merger of our UK businesses will enable us to bring the wealth of experience and know-how from our individual business units under the Konecranes brand,” said Bill Maxwell, Konecranes UK Limited managing director.

“This will make it easier for all our UK customers to benefit from the Konecranes group’s local presence and global expertise, and to improve the efficiency and productivity of their own operations.”
