On 5 June, 2009, Konecranes announced it had reduced the permanent workforce at Konecranes Service Corporation by 10, as well as making a number of temporary layoffs. The new talks are expected to affect around 15 employees.
Konecranes said the decision to start new negotiations is due to the continued weak demand for maintenance services in the Finnish market, and this employee reduction will further adjust the company’s cost structure and capacity to match market demand, and secure its future competitiveness.
Konecranes Service Corporation offers service solutions for cranes, port equipment and machine tools, employing around 620 people.
