The load is normally moved between the two lateral stands. Now it is possible to move the load through the portal. This is often needed when space is tight or difficult to manage. With this new lateral stand, Feltes said its gantry crane system offers a new range of applications.
The new portal lateral stand consists of three pieces that can, it said, be quickly put together. The firm produces two lateral stands with two different widths. The Type 1 lateral stand is 1.7m wide, with an internal width of 1.4m, and a total weight of 60kg. The Type 2 stand is 2.3m wide, with an internal width of 2m and a total weight of 66kg. The maximum load for both stands is 1,500kg.
