Attendees from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy, Thailand, Nigeria, USA, Canada and South Africa demonstrated global interest.

Exhibitors included key suppliers of cranes, lifting equipment, personal safety systems and training, as well as product test, examination and verification services.

“We were delighted with the outcome and the fact that so many exhibitors had such a positive day. The venue was excellent and we will be looking for a similar quality of venue for next year,” said LEEA chief executive designate Geoff Holden, who takes over from outgoing chief exec Derrick Bailes at the turn of the year.

“The fact that visitors had chosen to travel from around the world shows the benefit they see in being able to access the wide range of products and services available from the exhibitors at a single venue.”

The exhibition will continue to be held at venues around the country rather than at a fixed location in order to offer it to as many end users as possible.

“Many UK companies find it difficult to commit large amounts of time to travelling to exhibitions so we will bring the exhibition to their area on a regular basis,” Holden added.

LEEA is reviewing the format of the exhibition and is believed to be considering a conference or seminar to be held alongside the exhibition next year, thus, increasing its appeal to visitors.
