“We simply wouldn’t have been able to produce this crane at our old site – which, whilst it served the company well for many years, was starting to become restrictive,” said sales and marketing director Mark Stephens.

He added: “We have taken the big leap to new 14,000 sq ft premises, and we are already starting to reap the rewards.”

The former Platts Common company announced last year that it was to offer the full Verlinde range. LS is now one of only a dozen or so UK distributors for Verlinde. One of the most important outcomes of the deal, according to LS, is its ability to now offer a full crane service – from design to manufacture and installation, right through to training, maintenance and repairs.

Stephens added: “There is still a lot of further development and expansion potential for Lifting Solutions. We have now doubled in size in the last five years and intend to keep pushing on to stay one step ahead of the competition.”

He concluded: “In what is generally a shrinking local marketplace, we have both diversified and specialised, and are winning bigger contracts further afield, which is extremely positive for the business.”
