And in 2009, the conference is scheduled to return to the brand-new Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi, the boom-town next door to Dubai.

Cranes Today will be hosting both conferences. Its sister company Wilmington Conferences organised the first Middle East Cranes conference in February, which attracted over 200 people and 20 exhibitors.

It featured presentations from crane rental firms, including Alex Mullins, general manager of Al Jaber, third parties, including Lina Qudah of the Dubai Accreditation Centre, and construction contractors, such as Hoshem Hashem of Saudi Aramco and Bishoy Azmy of Al Shafar General Contracting. It was chaired by Imad Al-Jamal, a vice chairman of the UAE Contractors’ Association committee.

More information, including a programme of speakers and sponsorship opportunities, will be released soon. For more information, e-mail cranes@wilmington.co.uk
