Morris Material Handling Ltd of the UK has won a three and a half year contract for inspecting, servicing, maintaining and minor repair of Westland Helicopters’ cranes and allied lifting equipment at its UK design and manufacturing site in Yeovil, UK.
Morris will assume responsibility for 9,000 items requiring inspection. It is the first time the company has deployed a full-time on-site team.
‘As part of the long-term strategy that we have devised for our Aftermarket operation, it is our intention to vigorously target key accounts such as Westland Helicopters with a view to developing a portfolio of strategic partnerships,’ said Pat Campbell, head of aftermarket operations.
Westland Helicopters is the UK arm of AgustaWestland, owned by Italian firm Finmeccanica.
