Jenmon integrated the crane cross and long travel using an inverter system to reduce the inching problem faced in the other older cranes.

Jenmon director Mark Ong said the use of inverter reduces stress on the machinery and cuts downtime. He added: “Other advantages are the saving in electricity bills as the inverter system works on gradual acceleration, thus eliminating inching on the motor speed and reducing sudden high current surge when using the two-speed motor traditionally used on the cross and long travel machinery.”

Jenmon installed an Electro Permanent Magnetic (EPM) system, which activates and deactivates the magnets. Once in position, the operator activates the EPM system and the load is virtually permanently fixed onto the magnets.
