The Electroline range of positive grip rope fittings are “unique because they can be installed immediately with ordinary hand tools” claims the manufacturer Esmet. No swage presses are necessary as is needed with swaged fittings. The fittings are installed in less than five minutes, unlike poured fittings that need up to 24 hours to cure, and anyone can install them, it is claimed.
The end-of-line attachment consists of three parts: a sleeve that the rope passes through; a plug that is inserted into the separated wire rope strands and pounded into the sleeve; and the end fitting that screwed into the stud and is available in a number of styles including swivel hooks, clevises, and eyes.
The Electroline attachment is a practical end termination for hoist and crane applications since at least one end of the rope must be installed after the rope is strung through the sheaves and pulleys and must be done in the field.
It is also reusable and provides 15% more usable strength than wire rope clips, according to Esmet, which is based in Canton, Ohio in the USA.
