The order was made in December 2006 and the cranes will be delivered to the ICDAS steel mill in Canakkale, Turkey between November 2007 and February 2008. The total value of the order is over Euros 9million.

This order is part of the ICDAS investment project to increase the manufacturing capacity of flat steel products at its second steel melting plant in Canakkale, located on the north eastern coast of the Marmara Sea.

The order includes one ladle crane, one charging crane, one tundish crane, four scrapyard cranes, two billet cranes with a slewing trolley, and one upgrade of a charging crane from 200 to 250t.

Konecranes delivered a 300t ladle crane and a 200t charging crane to ICDAS’ first steel melting shop in 2003.

In 2006, Konecranes delivered a large number of steel mill cranes, including two ladle cranes and two charging cranes, with a 500t lifting capacity to the Turkish steel manufacturer Colakoglu Metalurji.
