The major car plant will enable the Japanese firm to target the growing Indonesian market with small cars that are based on the manufacturer’s 660 cc Wagon R vehicle, which has enjoyed success in Japan.
According to Reuters, Suzuki is committing to the new plant development in order to build a presence in emerging markets such as Indonesia.
The company would not be drawn on the plant’s capacity on when development and operation would commence.
