The top-running double-girder bridge crane has been supplied by North American Industries (NAI), and replaces an existing overhead crane at the ThyssenKrupp facility.

ThyssenKrupp, part of ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG, designs, manufactures, installs and services passenger boarding bridges for airports.

NAI had already supplied ThyssenKrupp with two cranes at the Fort Worth facility in 2001. NAI has continued to provide service and parts to ThyssenKrupp since then, and said it was pleased to provide a new crane system in support of ThyssenKrupp’s continued growth.

The 20 ton top-running double-girder bridge crane has an 87ft span running the entire length of the building. The crane will be used to transport ThyssenKrupp’s boarding bridges through its manufacturing process.

“We are focused on providing highly engineered overhead lifting systems designed to meet specific operational objectives, and we take pride in providing a seamless experience for our customers,” said George Wheelwright, NAI sales manager.

“Any time we receive a repeat order, it validates the good work we do in support of our customers.”
