Tsubaki Kabelschlepp has seen demand rise for its cable carriers for cranes in France, recently partnering with a metal manufacturer, where overhead cranes were being replaced with hybrid cable carriers of type MC0650 from its M series.
M series is perfect for the task of tough ambient conditions in the metalworking industry, due to their quick and easy installation and low maintenance requirements.
Philippe Connesson, technical sales, North-East and sales manager, France, Tsubaki Kabelschlepp, said the customer’s main incentive for this technology was its long service life of the hybid cable carriers and that they do not require any maintenance.
“All that is required is an occasional visual inspection, whereas the old cable reel systems required regular maintenance. The customer was immediately interested in these aspects,“ he said. “They were also convinced by our customer service and our quality products that can withstand the tough ambient conditions in the metalworking industry and are easy to handle.”
Hybrid cable carriers of type MC0650 RS with aluminium stays from the M series by Tsubaki Kabelschlepp were used for this project.
Since the start of the project, removal of the existing systems and installation of the new technology was carried out by Actemium Levage, specialist for maintenance and refurbishment of crane systems with its headquarters in Héricourt, France.
The RS aluminum stays are suitable for light to medium loads and are customizable in 1-mm increments up to an inner width of 800 mm. They can be installed with a wrench and allow for fast opening and closing of the cable carriers because they can be easily released on the outside and inside with a 90° twist.
The robust link plate design not only makes the sidebands particularly sturdy, but enables easy assembly with the easy-to-install locking bolts. Other benefits are offered by the encapsulated, dirt-resistant stroke system and the 2-disc principle of the cable carriers that minimizes link wear to extend the service life.
Tsubaki Kabelschlepp also offers a global ProService initiative representing a sustainable, standardized strategy that comprises six modules – installation support, maintenance training, on-site inspection, analysis, performance monitoring, and optimization – and ensures consistent quality standards.
