The Detroit rehabilitation work includes, but is not limited to, providing new bridge drives, installation of new main and auxiliary hoist speed reducers and gearing, modifying main and auxiliary hoist drums, providing new wire rope, providing new bearings and seals, replacement of electrical equipment and controls, and minor structural repairs and modifications. The new hoist and travel drives will be variable frequency drives.
The Big Cliff rehabilitation work includes, but is not limited to, providing new bridge drives, inspection and rehabilitation of main and auxiliary hoist speed reducers, replacement of auxiliary hoist drums, replacement of main and auxiliary hoist bull and pinion gearsets, providing electrical equipment and controls, and minor structural repairs and modifications.
The new hoist and travel drives will be variable frequency drives. Work also includes installing government furnished equipment. The cranes will be available to the contractor starting in May 2006.
The Detroit crane must be fully operational no later than October 31 2006 and the Big Cliff crane must be fully operational no later than February 28 2007. The magnitude of construction is $1m to $5m.
Evaluation and rating factors will be included in the solicitation when issued. Solicitation will be available on or about March 3 2006 with proposals due on or about April 4 2006 or 30 days after issue.
Interested parties must register on www.fedteds.gov, to download solicitation. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District.
This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns.
